Felix or Whiskas? Our quick answer

Neither is better for every cat. On our current prices Felix is cheaper per pouch, while Whiskas has the clearest age labels: kitten, 1+, 7+ and 11+. Both sell 85g pouches in jelly and gravy, so the right choice usually comes down to your cat's age, budget and what it will actually eat.

How we compared them

We compared the manufacturers' own UK product pages with Flux Trading's current prices (checked 6 October 2026). We only compare things you can check yourself: pack wording, life-stage labels, textures, pack sizes and price per pouch. We haven't taste-tested the foods, and recipes and prices change, so always check the label.

Which is cheaper, Felix or Whiskas?

On the packs we currently sell, Felix Original (about £0.27 per pouch) is cheaper than Whiskas 1+ (about £0.31). Felix's feeding guide for an average 4kg adult cat is four 85g pouches a day, fed in at least two meals, which would cost about £1.10 a day on our price if it were the only food. Whiskas shows its feeding guide on the pack, so check it and multiply by the pouch price before comparing daily cost. Kitten and senior recipes use different guides again.

Which has better life-stage choices?

Whiskas is the easier brand to shop by age: its wet range is split into Kitten (2–12 months), Adult 1+, Senior 7+ and Senior 11+. Felix also offers kitten and 7+ senior recipes, but we found no separate 11+ range on its UK pages. If you have an older cat and want an 11+ label, Whiskas is the clearer option. Always check the exact label on the pack, because ranges change.

Which is better for a fussy cat?

There's no clear winner. Both brands focus on jelly and gravy pouches, so a cat that only likes pâté or very fine textures may refuse both. Try a small pack or a single pouch first, introduce it gradually, and see how much your cat really eats. If texture is the main problem, our three-brand comparison also covers Sheba's wider texture range.

Choose Whiskas if…

• You're shopping for a kitten or older cat.
• You like a mid-priced, widely known brand.

Felix may not suit if…

• You need a labelled 11+ food.
• Your cat dislikes chunky jelly.

Whiskas may not suit if…

• You want the lowest price per pouch.
• Your cat needs pâté, terrine or soup.

Frequently asked questions

Is Felix better than Whiskas?

Not universally. Felix is cheaper per pouch on our current prices, while Whiskas has clearer kitten and senior labels. Choose the complete recipe that suits your cat's age and that it eats well.

Is Whiskas wet food complete?

Check the exact pack. Whiskas pages describe recipes as formulated to provide all of a cat's daily needs for its life stage, but wording differs between products. Look for the word "complete" on the pack, as Cats Protection advises, and ask your vet if you are unsure.

Does Felix have a kitten food?

Yes. Felix has kitten wet food in jelly, described by Purina as a complete meal. We don't currently list a Felix kitten pack, so see our kitten wet food guide for what to look for.

Is there a Felix or Whiskas for senior cats?

Both have senior ranges. Felix As Good As It Looks 7+ is designed for cats aged 7 and over, and Whiskas has 7+ and 11+ wet foods. Our senior cat food guide explains how to choose.

Can I mix Felix and Whiskas?

Yes, if you do it gradually. International Cat Care advises changing food slowly, offering the new food next to the old one and reducing the old gradually. Speak to your vet if your cat's eating or digestion changes.
